Concentration camp memorial
The Mauthausen concentration camp, together with the Gusen secondary camp and over 40 satellite camps, was the central site of political, social and racial persecution by the National Socialist regime on Austrian soil from 1938 to 1945. Of around 190,000 people imprisoned here, more than 90,000 were murdered. The memorial centre offers guided tours with pre- and post-talks as well as workshops. Tours and visits to the exhibition are free of charge, but we recommend using the virtual guide at www.mm-tours.org. Guided tours with pre- and post-talk and workshops are offered. Unaccompanied tours are possible using an audio guide.Leadership
