Granite Adventure World
In the Granite Adventure World, Austria's largest geological nature trail demonstrates the Austrian natural stone landscape with over 160 exhibits. This includes natural stones that are currently being quarried as well as historical rocks and geological features.
The focus is on granites from the granite highlands (Mühlviertel, Waldviertel, Sauwald) and the EUREGIO Bohemian Forest/Bavarian Forest. The second part is made up of natural stones from all over Austria, such as marble, limestone, conglomerate, sandstone, etc.
The guided tours offered throughout the year will introduce you to the history of the granite region and Austrian geology. A rest area at the intersection of the nature trail with the "Feldbahn" and "Granitweg" hiking trails invites you to take a break. The granite play castle "Burg Plekhingstein" is enthroned here, piled up from large granite blocks and boulders with corridors, caves and a castle chamber as an attraction for the youngest visitors.
In the Arena Granit pub, hikers, walkers and visitors to the Granit adventure world are spoilt with delicacies from all over Austria, while play equipment is available for the little ones. The mountain bike route, which is signposted all year round, leads past the Granit Adventure World.
Arena Granit
A historic quarry at the end of Austria's largest geological nature trail forms the setting for the impressive ambience of the natural amphitheatre ARENA GRANIT. Rows of granite rock seats for 500 visitors and the wild, romantic rock faces in the background form the backdrop for open-air events in the summer months.
