The Schärding town square is a feast for the eyes for its visitors!

The Silberzeile is located on the north-east side of the Oberer Stadtplatz and is probably so called because of the rich merchants who once had their headquarters here when the Inn was still an important trade route. The colourful facades with pastel shades go back to the medieval guild colours, which were assigned to individual guilds (e.g. bakers blue, butchers red, innkeepers yellow and green).
